Memorial Day 08'

Happy Memorial Day! I just wanted to give a shout out to all the brave men & women who defend our country. I am honored to be an "army brat". My father served in the Army for almost 30 years. He served in Vietnam & all over the country. He is my HERO!! I want him to know how proud we are of him & his years of service. I love you dad!!

Grandma Norma

Val's grandma Norma is here from Wyoming. She came in to help Val's little sister out for a couple of days while her husband was out of town. She just had her 2nd baby a little over a week ago & her other little one is not quite 18 months yet, so she has her hands full. So, we went to Val's parents on Sat. night for a BBQ to visit. We love grandma Norma, she is an amazing woman. She is so compassionate & always is smiling. I wish she lived closer so we could see her more. We are blessed to have her in our lives. I brought my camera along so I could get an updated picture of her with our family. I couldn't resist taking pictures of our new nephew, Jose Ramon Bingochea the 3rd. (it's a mouthful) he is so cute!!

"Oh my Hail!"

My day has been busy as usual, trying to get orders done for deliveries tomorrow & I stopped to take a much needed break. It started raining, which for us is good, than it started hailing. So, of course being the goofball that I am, I had to take some pictures. How often does it hail here? Not often. So, I take some pictures & come back inside. Not 3 or 4 minutes later, I go out to see if I can scoop some up in my hand for another picture & its gone. I was bummed I wanted to show C.J. when she got home from school some better pictures, this will have to do.

Eternal Families

Happy Anniversary to THE HOFFMAN FAMILY. We were sealed to my parents on May 8th 1976, in the Los Angelos, CA temple. To my brothers & sisters, I love you all, you have been good examples to me! Mom & Dad thank you for your dedication to the Lord. Thank you for setting the example of temple marriage. I am grateful to my Father in Heaven for each of you.

Tagged!

O.k. I was tagged by Heidi, a request for 6 unique/quirky things about me, so here I go....

1- One thing that is unique about me is I have a birthmark on the back of my leg that somewhat resembles, what some might think, is a Hickie. I know, crazy, but look on snopes.com it is true. Just kidding (about snopes). It has caused me some grief over the years, but it is definately unique to me.
2- I have a lot of things that are quirky, like Heidi, I need something to run my fingers along to fall asleep. Not a pillow case, but my husbands thick curly black hair. In fact, he has been gone since Wed. & I can't wait to curl up next to him tonight & run my fingers through his hair. (I know QUIRKY)
3- Another unique thing is I grew up as an Army brat. Born in Idaho, moved to Thailand when I was 2, lived in California for 4 years, moved to Hawaii when I was 8, moved to Arizona at 12.
4- I can be real competitve, as some of the Young Women know in our ward, I like to win! I don't know if that is quirky or unique, whatever your opinion is.
5- I love my dog Nixon, he is asleep on my lap as I am typing. My kids think it is very Quirky, (they are jealous). I think that my love for him is kind of crazy, because I really really wanted to have more kids, but I had to have a partial hysterectomy after C.J. was born, so he is like my last baby. Quirky!
6- I am a horrible cook!!! I, like Heidi, would much rather help with kids than bring in a meal for someone. This story some of you know: I tried to grill chicken one night to surprise my family. I thought, I can do this. I turned on the grill, left it for about 10 min. to warm up. I came outside to check on it & it wasn't warm, so I opened the lid & remembered I had forgotten to push the ignitor. Yep, you guessed it poof!! I pushed the button & puff the magic dragon opened up on me & my face. I was very lucky, I lost some hair & part of my left eyebrow. It was definately scary, but stinkin hillarious afterwards.
So there you go.
I tag, Vonda, Angie, Amy, Jenn H, Pam, Tami & Alyssa.

Nixon

I was told this morning by C.J. that I needed to put Nixon on our blog. So, here he is. He is such a fun dog, we all love him very much, especially me!! We just got him shaved & he looks like he is walking on sticks, his little legs are so skinny.
