Trippin' Cali style

Here are some of the highlights from our family vacation in San Diego. Just chillin on the beach. The San Diego Temple, Kenz wants to get married there someday.

Sea World.

Shamu. The kids in front of shark teeth. I love the look on their faces.

Val & me after riding Atlantis- completely soaked from head to toe.

The beautiful ocean.

Kenzie on her 14th bday @ Olive Garden. C.J's awesome sandcastles. The kids @ Joe's Crab shack. We also learned how to play some fun card games that dad taught us. We had a great time in San Diego & we even got caught up on our scriptures. We are almost done with the Book of Mormon.

Tough Girls Rule!

Here we are at the last game of All Stars on Monday. This is Alli Hancock, C.J's best friend. These girls played their hearts out. All three games were interesting.
The first game, we lost 22-0. Our coach was ejected the first inning & we battled the umpires the entire game. We found out later that the umpires were SanTan's own league umpires. (a little unfair!!) But, we ended up winning the game, because SanTan was playing with an illegal player. (she played up in Juniors all season, than they brought her down for AllStars) Big NO NO.
The next game Alli pitched & she did an awesome job- remember her name, she will be famous someday, playing college softball or something. Anyway thru the 4th inning it was 1 to 0. ya, crazy. Than we had some errors and fell apart. We lost 14- 0. So that forced a 3rd game. We were determined to win & move on to state. C.J. played right field & did an amazing job, she almost threw out a girl at first twice. Our pitcher Courtney did a great job &

surprising, their was only 1 umpire & he actually was very fair to both teams. But, sad as it is, we lost 6 -1. The girls did an awesome job. Coach Rob was a fun coach.
This is their team, we are missing one girl who already left for vacation- Celena.
All in all, I think the experience C.J. had was great, she improved in her fielding & learned how to bunt properly.
Good job Queen Creek Heat Majors.!!!! Tough Girls Rule!!

Kona Grill, open at last!

Kona Grill finally opened at San Tan mall. Yeah!! We love to go eat there. The boys love sushi & I love the Seabass. We took Val & his friend Kimberly on Friday night. She wanted to try sushi before the summer was over, so Val talked her into trying Kona Grill.

This little bag had some little plastic chopstick helpers inside.

This is Val & Kimberly.

This is the plate of sushi. Needless to say, she didn't like. She tried a California roll & could barely swallow it.

Hey, he smiled with his eyes open. He is handsome!!

"Just a little off the top, please."

This is our Nixon boy, before his hair cut on Friday. "just a little off the top" is an expression. He doesn't love to go to the groomers, so when we get to Petsmart, his little body usually starts shaking. But, he smells so nice when we pick him up. We all love it.

"Ta Da!!!" Look at how handsome he is now. You can see his cute little gorilla nose & his cute brown eyes. Apparently he asked for a "bobb".
Cute, huh?

All Stars

Its that time of year again! All Stars! Yippee, it's only 110 outside, why not play some ball! C.J. made all-stars for the Queen Creek Heat Majors this year. She is the smallest & youngest on the team. Her best friend, Allie Hancock is on the team too, so that is awesome! They start district play this Thursday, so I will post some photos this next week. Good luck to
girls.

Summertime, already?

It is officially summertime when:

mom does a load of pool towels everyday (we don't even have a pool)

C.J.'s bed becomes the couch, she sleeps on it every night

there are 1/2 drank bottles of water all over the house

everyone has gone into "lazy" mode with their rooms

the quiet peace in the home is replaced with, "mom, we have nooooothing to eat", "our house is soooo boring", "can I call a friend to see if I can go to their house", "where are we going today", "what are we doing today", "can we go to Jack in the Box", "mom, kenz did this", "mom, C.J. did that" & don't get me starting on the fighting.

when does school start again?

Just teasin! the end of our first official full week of no school has actually been fun. we have gone swimming everyday, we have played games, gone to the library, lots of fun stuff. hopefully that will tide them over the next 5 or 6 weeks. haha.
